As the gig economy is expanding globally, the United States is no exception either. More than one-third of the population, about 59 million people are working in the gig business, looking to make money independently. Another interesting fact is that more than 90% of Americans would consider freelancing or independent contracting work.
It’s no surprise, there are tons of side hustle opportunities for gig workers.
Do you happen to be one of the freelancers (or wannabe freelancers)?
If you do, we’ve got great news for you! Naturally, gig workers also need a way to track their business miles, and their rate of business miles compared to their personal miles is usually much higher than regular daily commuters’ – this is where MileageWise comes into the picture.
We at MileageWise understand that the most important aspect for gig workers is automation and ease of use. Our Mileage Tracker App offers 1 manual and 3 automatic recording options, choosing the right one for yourself depends on your vehicle usage habits.
Do you have a Bluetooth device in your vehicle?
The trigger point for logging trips with the Bluetooth Monitoring function is disconnecting the app from the paired Bluetooth device in your vehicle. If you do not exit your vehicle with your phone or at least turn off the ignition at the arrival of each new destination, then this option is not ideal for you.
Do you charge your phone in your vehicle?
The trigger point for logging trips with the Phone Charge Monitoring function is unplugging your charger from your phone or switching off your ignition. If you would find it inconvenient to unplug your phone or switch off the ignition at the arrival of each new destination, then this option is not ideal for you.
No Bluetooth, nor phone charging? No problem!
The trigger point for logging trips with the Vehicle Movement Monitoring function is exiting your vehicle and starting to walk. If you do not exit your vehicle with your phone at the arrival of each new destination, then this option is not ideal for you.
Manual tracking is also an option
One last tip, if you select one of the automatic recording options but you don’t exit your vehicle, you can always log your trip manually as well.
If you would like full control over logging trips or simply none of the above will work for you, our Manual recording mode is the solution to your needs. It doesn’t matter whether you are inside your vehicle or walking, just click on the check-mark upon arrival and your trip will be logged instantly.
Try out as many recording options as you can to find the one that best suits your driving habits.
Missed or forgot to log a trip?
No worries, you can manually log trips retrospectively as well. Our self-developed AI-based AdWise Wizard technology gives you recommendations for your forgotten trips, making sure that all gaps are filled in your mileage log.
On top of that, if you’ve recorded your trips on your phone using MileageWise’s automatic mileage tracker app, it only takes 7 minutes a month to sit in front of your computer, finalize and print your 100% IRS-compliant mileage log.
Remember, you have a 14-day free trial period with all our unique features included, you only need to make a decision after you are satisfied.
