MileageWise Inc. uses built-in technical solutions in its applications — Mileage Tracker by MileageWise and Mileage Log from Google Maps — to operate the apps, make them easier to use, track activity performed within the mobile and web applications, and display relevant offers where applicable.
What technical solutions does MileageWise Inc. use and for what purpose?
MileageWise Inc. uses these technical solutions for the following purposes:
- Application development,
- Collecting information about how users interact with the mobile apps. Based on this data, we can initiate improvements that provide a better user experience.
- Where the user has given consent to marketing communications, we aim to display the most relevant, personalised advertisements and exclude non-relevant ones.
Description and purpose of the technical solutions used
Firebase Installation ID
An anonymous identifier generated when the application is installed and stored for the duration of the installation. This identifier uniquely identifies the installed application until it is deleted from the device.
Using this identifier, MileageWise Inc. can access statistical data such as the number of users and can associate activity performed within the MileageWise apps with the relevant app installation.
IDFA (Advertising Identifier)
The advertising identifier of the device. This identifier is not stored or managed by MileageWise Inc., and is available only within the systems of advertising service providers (such as Google).
It may be used only if the user has given consent to marketing communications, and solely for advertising-related purposes.
IDFV (Vendor Identifier)
A unique identifier assigned by Apple Inc. for iOS applications, similar in function to the Firebase Installation ID. This identifier is not stored by MileageWise Inc.
GWB_ID
An identifier that ensures the connection between MileageWise Inc. and the application. Depending on the user’s consent, this identifier may be stored after login or registration and remains stored until the application is deleted. Without consent to marketing communications, this identifier is used exclusively for statistical purposes.
With consent to marketing communications, this identifier makes it possible to interpret data collected within the application together with data held by MileageWise Inc., allowing the display of personalised advertisements and the exclusion of non-relevant advertisements.
Data protection information
Users are entitled at any time to request information about the personal data relating to them that is processed in connection with the service by contacting [email protected].
Users may request access to their personal data, request correction or deletion, request restriction of processing, or object to the processing of their personal data.
Upon request, MileageWise Inc., as the data controller, will provide information about the personal data it processes in connection with the service, as well as data processed by any data processors acting on its behalf. This includes information about the source of the data, the purpose, legal basis, and duration of processing, the identity and contact details of data processors, activities related to data processing, and the legal basis and recipients of any data transfers, in accordance with applicable complaint-handling procedures.
If a user believes that their rights under applicable data protection laws have been violated, they may submit a complaint to MileageWise Inc. using the contact details provided above. Users may also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection or privacy authority, depending on their place of residence, and to seek judicial remedy before the competent courts.
