Our Google Timeline Import app makes it fast and simple to transform the trips already recorded on your phone into a clean, accurate, and IRS-compliant mileage log.
No ads. No tracking. No battery drain.
Just import → review → generate report.
This app is ideal for:
Self-employed individuals
Gig workers
Business owners
Anyone who wants an accurate yearly mileage log without manually tracking every trip

The Timeline Import app follows a straightforward 3-step process:
Before importing, your phone needs to generate a Timeline.json file containing your stored trips.
To export your file:
Open Settings on your phone.
Go to Location → Location Services → Timeline.
Tap Export Timeline Data.
Save the file on your device (for example, in Downloads).
💡 Tip: Your exported file is always named Timeline.json.
Once you have the file ready, return to the app and continue to Step 2.

Your Timeline file may include trips from multiple months.
The app will automatically detect the months and show you how many trips are available for each.
During your free trial, you can import one month for free.
To import:
Review the list of available months.
Tap the month you want to start with.
If you don’t have an account yet, the app will ask you to Log in or Create an account before continuing.
➡️ You can import monthly, or—during tax season—run through all 12 months back-to-back in one quick session.

After choosing a month:
Trips will be imported into your account.
You can review trip routes, addresses, and categories, then proceed to generate your report.
If Google’s GPS was slightly off (e.g., a pickup point is a few houses away), you can adjust details in our editor.
All edits sync to your MileageWise Web Dashboard, where you can generate your final IRS-Proof mileage log.
Your imported trips now form the foundation of your audit-proof mileage report.

After importing your months, you can review and edit your trips right in the mobile app.
For full mileage-log finalization, your data also syncs automatically to the MileageWise Web Dashboard, where the workflow is even more streamlined.
From there, you can:
Run the IRS Compliance Check
Clean up or fine-tune your log
Add missing clients or locations
Export PDF, Excel, or CSV mileage reports
You’ll have a clean, accurate, audit-proof mileage log in minutes.
