The Bluetooth Monitoring feature in the MileageWise Mileage Tracker App allows you to automatically record client or location visits without lifting a finger. Once set up, your trips will be logged automatically, ensuring seamless mileage tracking.
How to Activate Bluetooth Monitoring
- Ensure Connectivity:
- Make sure your mobile data and Bluetooth are turned on.
- Pair Your Device:
- Built-in Bluetooth: If your vehicle has built-in Bluetooth, select the name of your vehicle’s Bluetooth from the available devices list.
- External Bluetooth Device: If your vehicle does not have built-in Bluetooth, you can use a Bluetooth device that you only connect to in your vehicle, such as a Bluetooth speaker plugged into your cigarette lighter or USB port.
- Allow Permissions:
- You’ll need to grant permissions to optimize battery usage, and location service access to ensure the app operates efficiently. The app only uses GPS positioning and mobile data when you arrive at your destination, making it battery and power-efficient.
How It Works
Once Bluetooth Monitoring is activated and paired with your vehicle’s Bluetooth:
- Arrival Detection: When you arrive at your next client or location and turn off the ignition, the app will automatically log the visit if the location is already in your database.
Special Features
- Filling Station Alerts: If the nearest client to your destination is a Filling Station, the app will send an alert and automatically navigate you to the Refueling/Charging data interface to enter the necessary details.
- Abort Recording: When the app starts recording your client visit, you’ll receive a notification. To stop the recording, press and hold the notification for 20 seconds, and then tap the Abort button.
- Visit Saved Notification: You will receive an automatic notification when your client visit is saved.
Personalize Your Trip Recording Experience
MileageWise offers several features to tailor your trip recording to your specific needs:
- Set Auto-Recording Time Period: Define specific days and times for the app to automatically track your mileage, ensuring it only records during your work hours or preferred periods.
- Default Trip Purpose: Set a default purpose for new clients/locations, so your trips are automatically categorized.
- Saved Client Recognition: The app recognizes and automatically classifies previously visited locations, minimizing the need for manual input.
These tools work together to create the best mileage tracking experience making it seamless and efficient, reducing unnecessary input and focusing on the details that matter most.
Avoiding Duplicate Entries
If Bluetooth Monitoring is your preferred mileage recording method, we recommend deleting any previously set Recurring Daily Trips on the MileageWise Web Dashboard to avoid duplicate entries.
